Citizenship

There are four basic methods of obtaining United States citizenship:

  • Birth in the United States or to U.S. citizen parents
  • Legal adoption as a minor by U.S. citizen parents
  • Derivative citizenship from U.S. citizen grandparents
  • Application for Naturalization based on 3-5 years as a legal permanent resident
